So my friend needed party favors in less than a week for a special event. I decided to purchase wine glasses from the dollar store and with the help of vinyl and my Cricut I was able to make some cute gifts in less than an hour.

Time to Party!
My daughter's birthday party was a huge success! The kids and adults had a ball! For the kids it was a cool princess and knight party, but the Games of Thrones inspired theme brought a lot of adults ready to celebrate as well :-) My favorite part was the Iron Throne birthday chair made from a plastic lawn chair (shown in earlier post). Below are some pictures from party day.

Easter is Coming
This weekend was full of ups and downs, and when I'm down I craft :-) I pulled out some of my craft hoarder stash and assembled Easter baskets for my daughter's classmates. Side walk, chalk, bunny ears, and bubbles...oh! and of course a monogrammed basket :-)

Princess...well Khaleesi and Knight Party
I'm not the Disney Princess type mom....don't get me wrong I enjoy those classics, but when it comes to the examples I share with my daughter I want her to see strong women who don't sit around hoping for a knight in shining armor. As my daughter is truly the strongest person I know on this entire Earth, I want to show her women of strength and great virtue.
Although not at all a kid friendly show, I love Game of Thrones and always call my daughter "my little Khaleesi"...because she loves dragons, has one of the sweetest, purest hearts, but is NO PUSH OVER!!! While she doesn't watch the show, it was the perfect spin on the princess and knight theme. Therefore for her 5th birthday I am doing a Princess and Knight themed party that has some kid-friendly "Game of Thrones" inspiration. Check out the beginnings of my handy work ;-)
My daughter's Iron Throne started out as one of those bright pink, $5 plastic chairs from Walmart. With some plastic swords, glue, spray paint, and sand paper I was able to create a nice kid-sized replica. The swords, helmets, shields, etc were Halloween finds at Dollar Tree. I am also planning to give the kids knight/khaleesi crowns and capes as well, but I will save those for another post ;-) Stay tuned!

Dr Seuss Week
My daughter's school is celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday this week. Since her class is so small, I monogrammed some hats that I found in Target a few years ago. I also created goodie bags that included shape, color, and number flash cards and a "cat and the hat" container filled with colorful goldfish crackers. I hope her classmates enjoy their treats!

Wonder Who?
One of my friends came up with the coolest theme for her daughter's birthday party...well, actually her 4 year old daughter came up with the theme. She wanted a Wonder Woman themed party, so I couldn't say "no" to helping with party favors. I had a stash of sand pails from my $0.25 end-of-season win a couple of summers ago, so I added the vinyl stars to the front. I made felt super hero mask and added some bubblegum to the shovels. I may have to keep this theme in the back of my mind for my little one...it was so much fun and the colors!!! Oh my! :-)

Embroidery LOVE
I'm addicted embroidery now :-) In addition to making bug kit Valentines for my daughter's friends, I used Valentine's as the perfect excuse to make some cute gifts for my little nieces. Little girls are sooooo much fun!
