Minnie Love

I took a free motion quilting class at the end of 2014, and absolutely feel in love!  I have been practicing with a few baby quilts.  Although, I still need some practice, I think I am quickly improving!  This is a baby quilt I made for one of my sorority sister's new daughter (well, it's a little late...she's almost 6 months old now).  I also made some coordinating receiving blankets to go with it.  I'm taking an embroidery class next month, so I am hoping to start adding more monogramming to my work in the near future.

Lots of Love!

I love Valentine's, but not because of the roses, romance, and fancy gifts...I love it because it is simply a time that I choose to celebrate with Family and Friends.  Yesterday, I hosted a cookie decorating party for some of our friends and then we ended the day with a wonderful family dinner.  Of course I had tons of fun decorating and making things too :-)

Valentine's Is Here!

My daughter's class is having a Valentine's Day Dance on Friday.  That has to be the cutest thing...a school dance for 3 and 4 year olds.  I found these cute felt bags in Target's $1 section (starting in January).  I know people thought I was crazy for several reasons: 1) I was purchasing Valentine's items in January and 2) I wiped out various Targets' entire stock of these bags when I found them.  At one point I felt I was addicted to buying these bags. However, I ended up with enough to share with one of my best friends (and bartered monogramming services), so there was a purpose to the madness :-)  I also made gifts for my daughter's teachers and therapists.

Oh! The Places She'll Go!

Today I absolutely enjoyed helping with one of my best friend's baby shower.  She is using "Oh!  The Places You'll Go" as the nursery theme, so we decided to use that as our inspiration for her shower.  I loved using the pastel colors and had so much fun making things for this shower.  Check out some of the things I created...

My Basket of Goodies (I monogrammed the bucket)

We requested that guests bring books instead of cards to create a library for the little one

I enjoyed making things for this Dr Seuss themed Shower

 Oh!  The Places She'll Go

We played "The Price Is Right" and "Baby Bingo"

 I loved making this quilt

 I made this banner too!

I love shower decorations that can be used in the nursery

I loved my hot air balloons and clouds
