Dr Seuss Week

My daughter's school is celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday this week.  Since her class is so small, I monogrammed some hats that I found in Target a few years ago.  I also created goodie bags that included shape, color, and number flash cards and a "cat and the hat" container filled with colorful goldfish crackers.  I hope her classmates enjoy their treats!

Wonder Who?

One of my friends came up with the coolest theme for her daughter's birthday party...well, actually her 4 year old daughter came up with the theme.  She wanted a Wonder Woman themed party, so I couldn't say "no" to helping with party favors.  I had a stash of sand pails from my $0.25 end-of-season win a couple of summers ago, so I added the vinyl stars to the front.  I made felt super hero mask and added some bubblegum to the shovels.  I may have to keep this theme in the back of my mind for my little one...it was so much fun and the colors!!! Oh my!  :-)

Embroidery LOVE

I'm addicted embroidery now :-)  In addition to making bug kit Valentines for my daughter's friends, I used Valentine's as the perfect excuse to make some cute gifts for my little nieces.  Little girls are sooooo much fun!

You Make My Heart Flutter

I'm not a big fan of giving children candy, so I decided to make a Valentine's treat for my daughter's friend that would also serve as a way to improve fine motor skills, pattern/shape and color recognition exercises, and provide hours of entertainment.  I made big kits for each of her little friends, which included "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" book, hat, bug catching kit with tweezers, and little plastic bug friends.  For her extra little friends, I included a "Hungry Caterpillar" bath book and bath toy.
