Sesame Street Sign

I am so excited!  I was able to finish my Sesame Street Sign in time for my daughter's party.  I initially used this tutorial for general instructions.  One of my friends helped me cut the wooden pieces and then I assembled and painted.  It was a pretty simple project that I will place in my daughter's playroom after the party.  This will be a reminder of her 3rd birthday that will be there for many, many years...maybe I will be able to save it for my future grandchild's 3rd birthday as well :-)

Hooper's Store

I am definitely making progress with party planning for my daughter's birthday.  I only have a few more projects to complete!  This week I worked on making the things for Hooper's Store.  Each child will receive a wallet with money to spend on items in the store.

Abby Cadabby Wings & Super Grover Capes

My daughter's birthday party is only a week away, and I am actually wrapping up all of my projects!  I finally finished the big party favor for our little guests- Abby Cadabby Wings and Super Grover Capes.  The wings were actually purchased at the dollar store, but I dressed them up with korker bows.  I actually created my own pattern and made the Super Grover capes though.  I am so happy with the final product!

Hey What's Cooking!?!?!

Isn't this the cutest cooking set!?!?  My daughter received this in the mail (my sorority sisters are awesome).  I love, love, love the monogrammed apron and chef hat (yes, she made them), but the Melissa and Doug grill set was perfect for working on my daughter's fine motor skills!

March Madness

February is almost over and I have a month to finish all of the projects for my daughter's birthday party!  March is definitely going to be sheer madness!!!  I have checked a few things off of my "to-do" list.  One of my great friends (who seems to know how to do just about everything) helped me cut out wooden pieces to assemble a Sesame Street Sign...I hope to post pictures of that project soon.  I also came up with a cool design for some Sesame Street character bags...check out Cookie Monster and Oscar below...

My mind can't stay focused on one project for too long, so I gave myself a little distraction by creating these little St. Patrick's Day treats for my daughter and nephew.  Target has the best $1 section! I found some great Leap Frog learning activities, so I hope they will enjoy their pots of gold in a few weeks.

Okay, back to more bags.  Here is Bert and Elmo...

The gift bags are for the older children, but I will also have some babies attending the party.  I decided to decorate sand pails for them and designed Elmo onesies.

Each year I look forward to celebrating Valentine's Day with my family.  It is a big holiday for us, because we are truly thankful for the strong bond and love we have within our family.

Happy Blogiversary to The Twiddles!

I was fortunate to meet my friend, Maggie when my daughter was 6 months old. Initially we met during a family photo shoot, but her beautiful personality, creativity, and talents continue inspire me each and every day. Yesterday was her blogiversary and I was honored to have the opportunity to help her celebrate!  I absolutely love her blog and all of the cute DIY ideas she comes up with.

You can check out a post on her blog that features my Valentine's Day craft below...
